Art Glass by Nicolas

Nicolas Gagiu was born in Bucharest, Romania
in 1949. He completed his degree in medicine at the University of Timisoara in 1984 and practiced medicine in Romania and Marseilles, France, until 1990. However, his real passion was for his country's renowned art of glass blowing. While working with some master glass blowers of his country, he realized the potential of his talent and the satisfaction he received from witnessing the metamorphoses of a grain of sand into glass.

Today, he uses traditional ancient techniques in his studio which represent a slower, less mechanical production process. Nicolas gives each piece it's own distinct character.
